Missouri River at Cross Ranch State Park, North Dakota
Nikon D800 and Tokina 17-35 F4 that broke on this trip!!! WTF
Walked a couple miles in snow to reach this point in the river.
It was also a nice and chilly 5 degrees Fahrenheit. The water was barely iced over, that was why I couldnt get the smooth milky look on the water in some spots.

Its not that it broke, I learned it just froze up and wouldnt let me focus on anything. When it warmed back up to room temp it worked fine. I have a theory that the cold causes the material the lens is made from to shrink and distort the glass. When it is in use from 0c and up this won't be a problem.
For the price, you cant beat it...Sharp and build is great except for in my exteme cold I guess. Its only -10f at worst. However, I'm already longing for the Nikon 14-24 2.8.

Beautiful shot! Be glad that you got this shot before your lens broke. It's a bummer, but damn do you have something to show for it.

Thanks, I was satisfied for a few moments until the sky lit up like crazy and I wasn't able to use my lens. I could have had even more to show!
